The 2013 awards season has arrived, and the nominees include a batch of fresh new faces in Hollywood (and singers!) as well as lots of A-List stars, who all stand out for their Oscar-nominated performances. Snakkle tracked down the pre-fame photos of many of the 2013 Academy Awards nominees as we lead up to the show, but can you guess the famous actors or actress, before the fame?

Celebs are worldly people by occupation, but some are more well traveled than others. Take a look at some of your favorite actors and actresses who started out their lives very far away from Hollywood.

The KCAs are all grown up! This year marks the 25th annual telecast of the popular Nickelodeon awards show. But don’t worry; a celebrity or two is still guaranteed to get slimed. Kids (and many of their parents) will get to watch another star-studded event, with Will Smith hosting and none other than First Lady Michelle Obama presenting the Big Help Award to Taylor Swift for her philanthropic endeavors. Tune in on Saturday night at 8/7c to see who walks down the orange carpet—and who takes home an orange blimp.

There are many problems in the world today. But you know what? The Muppets are back on the big screen. That means that at least for a little while (110 minutes, give or take), everything will be fine. The latest Muppet movie adventure is directed by James Bobin (HBO’s The Flight of the Conchords) and written by Jason Segel and Nicholas Stoller (Forgetting Sarah Marshall). Any Muppet endeavor brings out the biggest and brightest stars, and by that we mean the ones that were willing to work for scale. (See what we did there? Wocka wocka wocka!)
