Birthdate: May 6, 1961
Hometown: Lexington, Kentucky

Before They Were Stars: George Timothy Clooney was born to Nina Warren and TV host Nick Clooney. George got his start on shows like The Facts of Life, Roseanne and E/R (no, not the show that catapulted him to fame. This was a different series. Really). But his obscurity was as short-lived as his marriage to Talia Balsam. His role on ER as Dr. Doug Ross turned him into a sex symbol, and launched his film career.
Where Are They Now: Although his first few forays into features went bust (lackluster rom-com One Fine Day, superhero super-dud Batman & Robin), a string of offbeat starring roles—a hot bank robber in Out of Sight, a charming escaped convict in Oh Brother, Where Art Thou, a suave criminal mastermind in the Oceans flicks—turned him into a sought-after matinee idol. In 2005, he proved he was a lot more than a pretty face by earning Oscar nods for writing and directing the historical drama Good Night, and Good Luck, and actually snagged a statuette for his supporting role in the oil epic Syriana. This year he’s starring in two probable Academy Award contenders: the family drama The Descendants and the political thriller The Ides of March. When not making audiences swoon, he pursues philanthropic projects and lots of lovely ladies.
Snakkle Snippet: Clooney’s aunt was late singer Rosemary Clooney, and his cousin is character actor Miguel Ferrer.

If there’s anything Hollywood hates more than rain, it’s aging. Wrinkles and a sagging anything are more terrifying than long-term unemployment, so it’s no wonder celebs young and old are always trying to keep the march of time off their faces. They’ll tell you the secret to the fountain of youth is the right makeup artist, some subtle plastic surgery, and a great personal trainer, and then it doesn’t matter how many candles are igniting that birthday cake. Snakkle is seeing a whole lot of mature faces looking way better than they did in their youth, so we honor the celebs defying their digits with some stellar DNA… (wink!)
