20 Years Later—The Celebrity Cast Of Sitcom Hit The Nanny, Where Are They Now?

As the pseudo-villain of the cast, Lauren Lane was perfectly annoying as C.C. Babcock, Maxwell Sheffield’s egocentric, supercilious, and impeccably dressed blonde business associate. Due to her unrequited crush on Maxwell, C.C. was often antagonistic to Fran, whom she viewed as a rival for his affections.

Lauren Lane—Now

Aside from a guest appearance on Fran Drescher’s short-lived series, The Fran Drescher Show, Lane has had very few acting roles in TV or film. She has, however, been more active in theater. The actress has performed in quite a number of plays with the Berkeley Repertory Theatre in California and the Zachary Scott Theatre in Texas.

Another eccentric family member is Fran's mother, Sylvia Fine. Once you "meet" Sylvia, questions you may have had about Fran (like her fashion sensibility) answer themselves. Sylvia is always looking for her next meal (claiming to be "Hippoglycemic") and she gives more than her two cents when it comes to Fran's love life.

Madeline Zima got her big break starring as Grace, the youngest child of the Sheffield kids. Precocious (and somewhat strange), Grace Sheffield often displays a startling intellectual complexity and emotional depth for a child her age. She has a very close relationship with Fran Fine, and once ran away from home to Fran’s parents’ house in Flushing.

Renée Taylor—Now

The talented actress started out as a comedian in New York City... Believe it or not, one of her opening acts was a then-unknown Barbara Streisand! The comedian-turned-actress also tried her hand at writing and directing, earning an Oscar nod for her 1970 film adaptation of the Broadway comedy Lovers And Strangers, which she co-wrote with her husband. Renée Taylor's role as Sylvia Fine was probably her most enduring comedic character on film and TV, but since then, she's been busy with minor to major roles in TV, like her more recent appearance as Marilyn on Happily Divorced. You can look forward to seeing her in the 2013 film Tyler Perry's Temptation.

Madeline Zima—Now

In 2003, Madeline played the teenage Lucille Ball in the CBS film, Lucy. The following year, she appeared in A Cinderella Story as one of Hilary Duff’s “evil” stepsisters. Since then, she has made guest appearances in various shows, including 7th Heaven, Ghost Whisperer, and Grey’s Anatomy. After that, she landed succeeding recurring roles on Californication and Heroes. In 2012, she appeared in one episode of The Vampire Diaries.

We couldn't bring up The Nanny without mentioning Yetta. Supposedly based on Fran's real-life grandmother, Yetta often forgets, well... a lot of things, like the fact that Maxwell's children aren't Fran's. But she does remember some juicy stories about her past romances, to everyone's pleasure or chagrin!

Ann Morgan Guilbert—Now

Ann Morgan Guilbert has continued to act after her memorable stint on The Nanny. Since playing Yetta, she's landed guest appearances on shows like Curb Your Enthusiasm, Law and Order: SVU, and Happily Divorced.

Though Daniel Davis spoke with an upper class British accent as Niles, the Sheffield family’s loyal, witty, and often sardonic butler, he is in fact an Arkansas native with a Southern accent. Next to Drescher, Davis was one of the more hilarious characters on the show—especially when he was making snide remarks towards Maxwell’s snooty business associate, C.C. Babcock (played by Lauren Lane), whom he fell in love with and eventually married in The Nanny’s last season.

Daniel Davies—Now

Daniel Davis continued doing Broadway plays following the conclusion of The Nanny, and was even nominated for a Tony Award for his role in Wrong Mountain. In recent years, he has done a few guest-starring roles in various TV shows, including Frasier, The Practice, and The Fran Drescher Show.

In addition to her role in Beethoven, Nicholle Thom is best known for playing Margaret “Maggie” Sheffield, the eldest daughter of Maxwell Sheffield. Initially shy and reserved, Thom’s character soon grows into a beautiful, confident young woman as the show progresses, under the guidance of her nanny (and later stepmom) Fran Fine.

Nicholle Thom—Now

After The Nanny, Nicholle Thom appeared in the critically acclaimed Sundance Film Festival entry, Panic, which she followed with small roles in The Princess Diaries and the Paris Hilton rom-com, Bottoms Up. In recent years, the actress has done guest appearances in various TV shows, including Criminal Minds, The Mentalist, and Castle.

Following The Nanny, Rachel Chagall made guest appearances in Just Shoot Me!, Strong Medicine, and What I Like About You. She has not done any acting work in TV or film since then.

In 2001, two years after the conclusion of the show, Drescher won her battle with uterine cancer, which inspired her to write “Cancer Schmancer” and launch her own non-profit organization of the same name. In 2008, she was appointed a U.S. diplomat, doing work in connection with her advocacy for women’s health and cancer awareness. As for acting, her latest work includes voicing Eunice, the wife of Frankenstein’s monster, in Hotel Transylvania, and starring in her own TV show, Happily Divorced.

Charles Shaughness—Now

After playing Maxwell Sheffield, British actor went on to voice Dennis the Goldfish in the animated Disney series, Stanley, for which he won an Emmy award. Since then, he has continued doing guest roles in TV shows such as Veronica Mars, Hannah Montana, and CSI: NY. He also recently appeared on former co-star Fran Drescher’s new series, Happily Divorced and had a role in Lifetime’s Elizabeth Taylor biopic, Liz & Dick. In 2007, Shaughnessy became the fifth Baron Shaughnessy upon the death of his second cousin.
