Happy Birthday, Joan Cusack! You Make Every Movie Better by Being in It
If there is anyone out there that doesn't appreciate Joan Cusack... honestly, we can't think of anything to tell such a person, other than, "Huh?" The lovely and preposterously talented Ms. Cusack has been consistently excellent since her first film appearance way back in 1980. She also seems like someone who leads a normal life off-camera; this clip of Joan promoting Mars Needs Moms is a great example. On the occasion of her 50th birthday, here is a Snakkle look at a few of our favorite Joan roles, both large and small. By Brett Singer
Joan Cusack in Working Girl (1988)
Working Girl earned Joan Cusack another Oscar nomination. Her hair should have gotten a special nod for being so… well, look at it. It’s almost another person. Cusack plays Cynthia, a.k.a. Cyn, a friend of Melanie Griffith’s character Tess. Pretty much everything Cusack does in this movie is great (Oscar nomination, remember?) but this 11-second clip includes a classic line, a perfect Staten Island accent, and that enormous, wonderful hair.
