As a child, Garth Brooks often competed in “talent shows” with his brothers and sisters. By the time he reached high school, he continued to sing at casual family gatherings, but his main focus was athletics. Garth was a track scholarship student at Oklahoma State University, where he competed in the javelin.

You grew up with us in Yukon, OK….you made fun of my shoes at church camp…you played football amd baseball with my brother, Bill. Your family lived just down the street (Woodlawn) & went to the same church (Vand.) we moved to Arkansas in 1978…our dad died of cancer in 1979, our mom past in 1997…We remember, do you?
