The cast of Southland portrays tough-as-nails officers on the mean streets of Los Angeles. They patrol gang-infested areas, raid drug dens, get in stand-offs with armed, mentally unstable men and women, and chase suspects who refuse to go down without a fight. Needless to say, they are authority figures on the show, but during a recent set visit, the cast opened up to Snakkle about life not always imitating art. By Danielle Turchiano

Lucy Liu is the new kid on the block on Southland, coming into the squad in the fourth season with a character who has deep emotional baggage. The journey for her on-screen is to find the strength to really find herself within the job again, and for Liu, finding herself is a sentiment known well, albeit not as recently.
