Apolo Ohno burst onto the Salt Lake City Winter Olympics scene at the age of 19 and wowed the world by winning the silver medal (after a nasty fall) in the 1000-meter short-track speed skating race and gold in the 1500-meter race. In the 2006 Torino Games he won gold in the 500-meter race and bronze in the 1000-meter matchup. In the Vancouver Games of 2010, he became the most decorated U.S. Winter Olympic athlete after winning another four medals in various races.
