Snakkle Celebrates Regis Philbin’s Amazing Career as He Retires from Live with Regis and Kelly
A fixture on television for almost 50 years, Regis Philbin has adapted and thrived in the business in his various roles as a game show host, chat show personality, sometimes actor, and overall audience-pleasing entertainer. He’s been called the “hardest-working man in show business,” and Guinness World Records backed it up by confirming that he has officially spent the “Most Hours on Camera” of anyone on television. Philbin officially retires from his Live morning show on November 18, 2011, after 23 years, so we at Snakkle want to celebrate that milestone and his many others! By Tara Bennett

Regis Philbin on The Regis Philbin Show (1964)
After a stint in the U.S. Navy, Philbin pursued a career in broadcasting as a page, writer, and even a Tonight Show announcer until he landed his own chat show on KOGO-TV in San Diego. The short-lived show had no budget for writers, so by necessity Regis developed his signature witty, off-the-cuff style.
