Verne Troyer as Mini-Me in Austin Powers

Verne Troyer was originally introduced in the second installment of the Austin Powers film series, The Spy Who Shagged Me, as Mini-Me, Dr. Evil’s clone at one eighth his size. Mini-Me is capable not only of packing a semi-lethal punch but of humping anything that is stationary or moves as well. His rivalry with Dr. Evil’s son Scott (Seth Green) leads to his eventual defection to join Austin Powers in Goldmember, which includes transforming his look from a mini Dr. Evil to a mini Austin Powers. It’s worth watching the final installation just for that.

Verne Troyer—Today

Troyer has acted in such hit films as Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone (2002) and television shows including Boston Public and Two and a Half Men (no pun intended). Troyer has to do all his own stunts, as there are no stunt doubles small enough to substitute for him. He can be seen in Keith Lemon: The Film, which was released in 2012.

Green has appeared in all three Austin Powers films as the love child of Dr. Evil (Mike Myers) and Frau Farbissina (Mindy Sterling). He tells his mother on Jerry Springer, “I thought I was a test tube baby.” That is a preferable thought for the psychotic spawn of Dr. Evil and his favorite defense specialist. Scott’s disaffected attitude primes him for the lead nemesis role in the possible Austin Powers 4 movie that is rumored to be in the works.

What hasn’t Seth Green starred in or created? If he isn’t the voice of Chris Griffin on the Fox hit Family Guy, he’s creating the hit animated series Robot Chicken. Veteran actor Robert Wagner serves as Dr. Evil’s corporate counterpart who would far rather have a profitable bottom line than blow up the world. When Austin Powers asks Number Two what he does, his reply sums up his position. He says, “That's my business. Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go to the little boys' room.” Toilet humor abounds in all three films.

Myers, who was inspired by comedic geniuses such as Peter Sellers, created and plays not only that shagadelic spy Austin Powers, but Dr. Evil, Fat Bastard, and Goldmember as well. Myers, who got the idea for the Powers character after listening to a Burt Bacharach song in his car and wondering what happened to the swingers from the 1960s, used his comedic mojo to come up with the tagline, “Do I make you horny, baby?” That would be a "definitely" for the female characters in the film; for the audience members, not so much.
