Where Are They Now?
HOT GALLERY: Mannequin Turns 27! Where Is the Cast Now?
Mannequin is the kind of movie you could get away with in 1987. It was a romantic comedy in which the romance was between a straight male department store window designer and, well, a mannequin. It is not ironic. It is sweet, silly, and not meant to be taken too seriously. Like we said, très '80s. Let's look back on this goofy and glorious gift from that deliciously daffy decade and see what the cast of Mannequin has been up to. By Brett Singer
Meshach Taylor as Hollywood Montrose in Mannequin, 1987
Meshach Taylor’s flamboyant portrayal of designer Hollywood Montrose wouldn’t win any GLAAD awards for positive portrayals of gay men. His sunglasses, however, would win something. Craziest Sunglasses, perhaps. Hollywood does get to play hose-wielding hero in this scene, loudly proclaiming “This is what being a man is all about!” and the unsubtle “Mine is bigger than yours is!” We’ll let that last line speak for itself.
