The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame—Stars Who Were Snubbed, and Stars Who Snubbed Back
We weren't surprised when Axl Rose announced he would skip Guns N' Roses' Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony. It did get us thinking, however. Many artists have snubbed the Hall over the years, including Sir Paul McCartney. But many musical mainstays have been themselves snubbed by the Hall's committee of "rock experts." While not a major issue like world peace, this topic does inspire passionate debate; check out the comments on FutureRockLegends.com. We picked some folks who told the Hall to go jump in the lake, along with artists we feel deserve to be recognized by the esteemed Cleveland museum. Check out “Barracuda,” written in response to a disgusting ad placed by their record company that implied the sisters were a little closer than one might think. And how about Nancy Wilson’s amazing guitar playing on “Crazy on You“? The Wilson sisters were the original female rock stars, unself-conscious about being women in a male-dominated industry, and making it to the top through pure talent. We’re not saying the Hall of Fame is a boy’s club… because Evelyn McDonnell at Salon said it for us.
