Nina Constantinova Dobreva was born in Bulgaria and moved with her family to Canada when she was 2. In her teen years she modeled, and that led to her role on Canada’s popular teen series Degrassi: The Next Generation. Nina played Mia Jones, a very young teen mother trying to navigate high school, dating, and the eventual stabbing of her new boyfriend.
