First Doctor (1963 – 1966): William Hartnell
Before stepping into the Tardis: Brit actor Hartnell was a regular on British television and classic feature film dramas for almost thirty years before assuming the mantle of the Doctor. His longest stint was on The Army Game, where for three years he played CSM Percy Bullimore.
After his stint as Time Lord: The Doctor was to be Hartnell's greatest and final role. He would return to the Tardis in the '70s, playing the First Doctor one last time for The Three Doctors special, before passing away in 1975.
