D’oh! Has it really been 25 years since the FOX Network first graced our television screens? Launched in April of 1987, Rupert Murdoch created the “fourth network” to compete with the old guard, otherwise known as ABC, CBS, and NBC. Married…With Children and The Tracey Ullman Show were among its prime-time debuts in 1987, with shows like 21 Jump Street and Duet soon rounding out the programming. Of course, these were only the beginning. In honor of 25 years on air, Snakkle celebrates 13 of our favorite FOX characters. By Katherine ButlerDebuting on FOX in 2005, Bones is the crime drama depicting the shenanigans of forensic anthropologist Dr. Temperance “Bones” Brennan and her co-hort, F.B.I. Agent Seeley Booth (David Boreanaz). The show, which was just renewed for an eighth season, has been a highly successful production for FOX, drawing in almost a cult-like following amongst its watchers. Just why has the character of Bones resonated so much? As Deschanel explains her popularity, “Personally, I was really drawn to a very strong female character; an intelligent woman who is extremely good at her job but has trouble relating in her personal life to people beyond her area of scientific expertise.”
