Anyone surprised by Steven Tyler’s smooth transition from Aerosmith front man to American Idol judge should check out some back issues of Rolling Stone magazine. We did, and it shows that Tyler has always been a personality with a capital P—letting it all hang out, whether screaming lyrics onstage or joining AI contestants in song today.
