What started back in 1978 as a small competition for independent American films, and with the help of the star power of its early Chairperson, actor Robert Redford, the event has grown into a week-long celebrity-packed party on the slopes where new and established stars gather to watch (and judge) indie films, fresh faces, and drum up publicity for themselves and their projects, all while catching powder. With so many iconic films coming out of Sundance over the years (Deliverance, Midnight Cowboy and Mean Streets were all screened at the first 1978 festival), Snakkle tracks down the stars of past stand-out and award-winning films from the Sundance festival circuit to see if they ever made it big.

TV fans everywhere who may be overwhelmed by the hugeness of Comic-Con, rejoice! If it’s TV you love, there is a new festival from June 1-3 that promises incredible programming to TV fans of several genres. The first ever ATX Televsion Festival in Austin, TX was founded by industry vets Caitlin McFarland and Emily Gipson and Snakkle asked them how this huge undertaking went from an idea to reality.
