But can glowing fingers and the future King of England compare to the premiere of Late Night with David Letterman? The show, which began in 1982 on NBC, continued until 1993. That’s when Dave, Paul, and the World’s Most Dangerous Band moved to CBS for the Late Show with David Letterman. Some 30 years later, we’re celebrating Dave’s dominance over late night, now besting The Tonight Show and Jay Leno’s chin in the ratings.
