You might be surprised at the humble (and remarkably fashion-awkward) graduation looks of some of today’s biggest movers and shakers. An academic overachiever all through high school, Michelle Obama (then Robinson) graduated as a member of the National Honor Society, student council treasurer, and salutatorian of her class. She then attended Princeton University and got her law degree from Harvard Law School. Now she’s kind of a big thing as First Lady of the United States, with platforms supporting military families and preventing childhood obesity.

Thanks so much Ron for clarifying that error. I too graduated from Whitney M. Young in 1981and recalled Maria Sanchez as Salutorian. The fellow graduates I asked did not remember.
