On August 31, 1997, we lost the People’s Princess in a tragic, paparazzi-fueled car chase through the streets of Paris. Michael Jackson, 1958-2009
Singer, songwriter, dancer, actor, producer, and more, Michael Jackson was a musical sensation who changed the landscape of superstardom in the music industry. Only 8 years old when he joined his brothers in the Jackson 5, Jackson was soon setting chart records with hits such as “I’ll Be There” and “ABC.” In 1979, he released solo album Off the Wall and followed with Thriller in 1983, which is still the best-selling album of all time. The King of Pop died in Los Angeles of an accidental drug overdose on June 25, 2009, at the age of 50.
