Before They Were Stars
Guess Who These AHS: Asylum Briarcliff Inmates Were Before They Were Stars
The second season of FX’s acclaimed miniseries American Horror Story (appropriately subtitled Asylum) sees a number of familiar faces checking into Briarcliff, an institution for the psychologically disturbed and clinically insane that was run by the Catholic Church. In its heyday in the 1960s, its practices were unorthodox, to say the least, as the priests, nuns, and doctors worked hard to rid regular people of what they perceived to be demons. Snakkle looks back at the American Horror Story: Asylum cast before Briarcliff got its hands on them—and before they were stars altogether. By Danielle Turchiano
