Just When You Thought It Was Safe to Go Back into the Water—Snakkle Celebrates the Stars of Jaws
Has it really been over 39 years since we first developed a fear of dark water and John Williams's use of a tuba? In 1975, Steven Spielberg’s Jaws introduced us to menacing man-eating sharks and Roy Scheider’s scowl. The film was a huge box office success, with a worldwide gross of $470,600,000, the highest of its time. Naturally, Hollywood followed up with three sequels, Jaws 2 (1978), Jaws 3-D (1983), and Jaws: The Revenge (1987). Snakkle catches up with the stars of the franchise to find out what they are up to today. By Katherine Butler
Robert Shaw in Jaws, 1975
Robert Shaw cemented his status as a “guy you do not mess with” as the grizzled shark hunter Quint in Jaws. Shaw’s Quint was a man on a mission to fulfill his greatest grudge, which pretty much involved putting every shark he could find on the sharp end of a stick. Unfortunately for Quint, he falls victim to his own Moby Dick.
