Happy Birthday, Joan Cusack! You Make Every Movie Better by Being in It
If there is anyone out there that doesn't appreciate Joan Cusack... honestly, we can't think of anything to tell such a person, other than, "Huh?" The lovely and preposterously talented Ms. Cusack has been consistently excellent since her first film appearance way back in 1980. She also seems like someone who leads a normal life off-camera; this clip of Joan promoting Mars Needs Moms is a great example. On the occasion of her 50th birthday, here is a Snakkle look at a few of our favorite Joan roles, both large and small. By Brett Singer
Joan Cusack in My Bodyguard (1980)
Every actor starts somewhere. One of Joan Cusack’s first roles was Shelley in the Matt Dillon movie My Bodyguard (1980). How cute is she? It wasn’t a big role, but she does show up in the trailer; here is Matt Dillon’s Melvin Moody being mean to Joan’s Shelley. Dude! So not cool. Okay, it’s just a movie. But still.
